Ezekiel 15:2-6

“Son of man, how does a grapevine compare to a tree? Is a vine’s wood as useful as the wood of a tree? Can its wood be used for making things, like pegs to hang up pots and pans? No, it can only be used for fuel, and even as fuel, it burns too quickly. Vines are useless both before and after being put into the fire. “And this is what the Sovereign Lord says: The people of Jerusalem are like grapevines growing among the trees of the forest.”

Insight: Without fruit, the vine is useless. Its wood isn’t even worth anything. As Christians, when we cease to bear fruit, just like the vine, we’re kinda worthless too. What is it to be a Christian in name only? Rather, let us seek to nurture the fruit of the Spirit in our lives.

Prayer: Lord, I don’t want to be useless. Help me to bear fruit in my life. I want to demonstrate love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control in my life for Your glory and for Your Kingdom. I love You, Lord. Amen
