Ephesians 6:1-3

Verse: Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”

Insight: Sometimes it might be hard to honor our parents, especially if their beliefs and actions do not align with ours. However, there is no better testimony than loving and serving our parents regardless of our differences. Our faithful and loving actions will be louder than words. Deciding to love and honor our parents will undoubtedly help change, not only their hearts, but also ours. If your parents have already passed, surrender all of the hurt and pain to Jesus. Forgive; He wants to set you free!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for my parents. We may not always be on the same page but I know that with your wisdom and love I can overcome any differences we may encounter. Remind me that we all fall short and are in need of your grace. In Jesus Name, Amen.
