Psalm 91:5-7,11

Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you…For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go.

How many of us can honestly say…we are afraid of the dark! So often it seems like darkness can affect us in a negative way: our thoughts, our choices, allowing fear to creep in. This verse reminds us that we have a mighty savior that fights on our behalf. Anxiety and fear are very real emotions, but we serve an incredibly real and faithful God. We are protected, cherished, and loved by our creator. Let’s walk in this freedom today.

Lord, we know that this world does not come without trouble. Sometimes it feels like the darkness is all we can see. But your word shines light in these dark places and allows us to put our trust in you. Please bring comfort to hearts today where anxiety and fear have crowded in. We are so loved by you. In your name we pray, Amen.
