1 Thessalonians 3:12

And may the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and overflow, just as our love for you overflows.

We know that God tells us to love our neighbor just as we love ourselves. This can be a difficult thing to practice if your neighbor has perfected the art of being a grouch. This verse reminds us that we are called to love each other with a love that “overflows”. It is out of the overflow of God’s love for us, that we are capable of loving and leading others well. Overflow is essential to our relationships with people and with Jesus. Challenge yourself this week reflect on where you are experiencing overflow in life, and perhaps where overflow is needed.

Lord, thank you for helping us to love those that may be challenging to love. We acknowledge our need for you. We know that proximity to you is the only way to experiencing true overflow in our lives. You are a Good Father who loves us. Amen.
