Deut 32:10-11

Verse: He found them in a desert land, in an empty howling wasteland. He surrounded them and watched over them; he guarded them as he would guard his own eyes. Like an eagle who rouses her chicks and hovers over her young, so he spreads his wings to take them up and carried them safely on his pinions. Deut 32:10-11

Insight: We can find ourselves in utter desolation, our hearts empty, howling for hope. God protects his people, taking us from the wasteland of our poor decisions into his salvation. He doesn't grab us by the hand, forcefully dragging us along. When we call on him in distress, our Heavenly Father swoops in and lifts us up, carrying us on his back, providing a view of things we wouldn't otherwise see. Picture a loving father giving his troubled child a piggy-back ride; bouncing around, playfully jostling, he brings us to a place of safety in his defense.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for wanting more for us. Your provision of peace is a comfort and refuge. Your protection is a place of rest. Help us to trust you enough to leave the places of our past and rise to new heights with you, in Jesus name, Amen!
