Verse: When two years had passed, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus, but because Felix wanted to grant a favor to the Jews, he left Paul in prison.
Insight: After accepting Christ as Lord of our lives we can begin to think that that life will be free from pain, loss, and disappointment. That is not true and we have numerous examples of how God allows us to “stay in the middle of a storm” but promises to “be with us.” Paul being left in prison is just one example of this. God uses every situation, even our heartache and disappointment for his glory and our development.
Prayer: Jesus, thank you for your promise of being “with us” regardless of the season or setting. Help us to learn to trust your plan when we don’t see the outcome we’re praying for. In your Name, Amen.
