Luke 18:38-41

“So he began shouting, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” “Be quiet!” the people in front yelled at him. But he only shouted louder, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” When Jesus heard him, he stopped and ordered that the man be brought to him. As the man came near, Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?” “Lord,” he said, “I want to see!”

Insight: As Jesus passed by on his way to Jericho, a blind beggar called out to him. The man knew the miracle he sought, had faith in the one that could give it and ignored the crowd's attempts to silence him. When we need a miracle in our lives to today, we must be persistent in our faith, looking beyond the voices of discouragement, to God alone.

Prayer: Lord, too often I try to carry my struggles alone when, like the blind man, I should be calling out to you. Help me to be bold and persistent in my faith when I seek miracles only you can give. Thank you for all that you have done and will continue to do in my life. In Jesus name, Amen.
