1 John 1:8-10

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Insight: As a follower of Jesus, there are a lot of times that I do something stupid and my reaction is to try and act like it never happened. Usually this is because I feel like I need to be a better example to those around me, or I am just embarrassed because I know that I did something wrong. These verses in 1 John remind me that the example that I should be showing is a life that that is filled with grace. It's a good reminder that we are all people, and until we go to Heaven we will constantly battle with sin and temptations. It's not about how little you sin, but how you react to it.

Prayer: Dear Lord, Help me to be the right kind of example, to confess the things that I have done, and to show the grace and forgiveness that you have given me.
