John 20:17

“Don’t cling to me,” Jesus said, “for I haven’t yet ascended to the Father. But go find my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

Insight: So far in Jesus' life he has experienced birth, adolescence, adulthood, ministry, suffering, crucifixion, death, and resurrection. Now he is looking forward to his ascension. For us, me and you, we often view life through the lens of where we see Jesus. Do you see Jesus as Immanuel, the great high priest, the good shepherd, as a crucified savior, as a risen Lord, or as the Victorious One that is seated on the throne in heaven? How we see Jesus usually determines the decisions we make and how we live our lives.

Prayer: Jesus, thank you for being our example on how to live our lives. Your sacrifice means everything to us. We worship you, King of Heaven. I pray your Holy Spirit will fill us with your power so we can follow you and go wherever you are calling us to. May we make our decisions in life as if you are in control and victorious over all of Earth and all of Heaven.
