Proverbs 15:1-2

A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouths of fools pour out folly.

Insight: No one likes to lose an argument but the truth is that no one wins it. You might feel you did, but you might lose a friend or someone’s trust. God called us to be peacemakers and to bring His peace everywhere we go. When we see others as superiors, and with the love of God, He will give us the wisdom to provide the right answer to a challenging situation without having to scream with angry words.

Prayer: God, help me not to say too much. I understand that there is power of life and death in my tongue. I want to instill life through my speech, regardless of the situation. May the fruit of your Spirit radiate through my life, and in doing so, attract the other person closer to you. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
