For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.
Insight: I look at this as a cautionary tale. These are people who “knew God,” they went to church, they knew the Bible. Yet, they did not chose to live for him, but instead thought and acted like those who were in the world. It is not enough to just go to church, sing songs, pray occasionally when we need something, and then live for ourselves. That is not God’s desire for our lives - it will lead to ruin.
Prayer: Jesus, help me to think, act, and live like you. I want to be in your word so I may know your truth and in turn act not like everyone around me in this world, but like Jesus. You are are amazing and I am thankful for your grace.
