Verse: "Your offenses, daughter of Zion, are atoned for; He will keep you in exile no longer. Your offenses, daughter of Edom, He will punish; He will expose your sins."
Insight: Jerusalem is called Zion throughout Lamentations. The "daughter" of Zion is likened to a young maiden who was foolishly strayed into adultery and defiled herself with idols. However, now in this verse her punishment is finished, leaving the door open for repentance and restoration. So too we are restored through the blood of Jesus.
Prayer: Thank You Lord for Your forgiveness. We believe that You have restored us and have already atoned for our sins. We now live in Your righteousness. In Jesus Name.
