Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.
The psalmist just wrote how the Lord had saved and protected him. From those hard moments, those battles, when we are physically and emotionally drained, we need to remember that we have the ability to rest because of what God has done for us. Rest in His presence, in His safety. Regain your strength, allow the Father to speak to you, the Shepherd to “lead [you] beside still waters, He restores [your] soul.”
Father, I want to never find myself more than an arms length away from you. I want to live in your presence, where I know that I can find joy, peace, satisfaction, safety, correction, encouragement and love. You are everything that I need. Thank you for being my rest.
