Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
This scripture reminds me that even though Jesus has absolute power to not take any of the pain that he eventually endured on the cross, He chose to anyways for our sake. The word "endured" makes me think that it was a brutal and constant pain that was thrown His way to the cross and on the cross. Reminding ourselves daily of the sacrifice that Jesus made, would surely change our perspective towards our heavenly Father and how He loves us.
Jesus thank you for your sacrifice you submitted yourself to on the cross for us. I am broken and am reminded that you endured that pain so that I didn't need to. You took my pain, my sickness, my worries on the cross and I am so thankful that I am able to give you those things.
