Psalm 142:5-6

I cry to you, LORD; I say, "You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living." Listen to my cry, for I am in desperate need; rescue me from those who pursue me, for they are too strong for me.

Insight: The author seems like they are in a complete state of desperation. This is a reminder to me that when I am in "desperate need," I need to go to Him and be rescued. I often find myself in a prideful state of trying to figure out things on my own but I need to go to God right away to help me. This requires admitting to myself that I can't do it on my own and I need him to rescue me.

Prayer: Thank you Jesus for rescuing me. You have rescued me so many times in my past but I still often think I know a better way. God, help humble me in every situation. Thank you for showing me grace when I try to do it on my own.
