1st Samuel 31:4

Saul said to his armor-bearer, "Draw your sword and run me through, or these uncircumcised fellows will come and run me through and abuse me." But his armor-bearer was terrified and would not do it; so Saul took his own sword and fell on it.

Insight: Saul once showed great potential of being a great kind to the Israelites but it was through his disobedience that he ended up losing favor with God and dying. Through the books of 1st and 2nd Samuel there is a trend of God blessing those who are obedient to him (Samuel, David) and then allowing some characters to go through a hard time due to their disobedience (Saul, David). God wants us to be obedient to His will for our lives and will bless us when we do what he asks us to do.

Pray: God let me be sensitive to your Holy Spirit. Let me weed out distractions and hear what you want for me. Help me choose the direction you want me to go even if it doesn't seem to be the easiest option. Thank you for blessing thosewho obedient to you.
