1 Corinthians 9:24-25

"Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.  Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training.  They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever."

Insight: We have one life to live for Christ on this earth.  We can give it a half-hearted effort, allowing ourselves to be distracted by problems & pleasures alike that are only temporary, or we can set our minds & hearts to running a race with the same kind of determination and focus that is needed when you are determined to be the one getting the prize at the end.

Prayer:  Father, so many things clamor for my attention, time & energy.  Help me to make wise and godly choices so that at the end of my race here on earth, I can look back and see that I ran the race that mattered with all that was within me.  Help me set my sights on eternal rewards, rather than temporary ones.
