17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.18 Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.
The bible tells us that if we lack wisdom, we should ask God what to do. Lacking wisdom can feel like: lacking clarity, not knowing which step to take next, or not knowing which direction to go. The wisdom that God gives to us is packed with goodness. The second part of this verse reminds us that being Peacemakers is essential to our walk with God. In the busyness of this holiday season, let’s keep our eyes on being Peacemakers everywhere we go. With family, co-workers and friends, let us be the influence that helps bring out peace and restoration in each circumstance. Jesus lives in us – he is our peace.
Father help me to be the person of peace you have called me to be. I pray for wisdom in the areas I need clarity from you. You promise to bring wisdom to those that ask. Thank you for giving me your peace, so that I can center my life around your goodness. Amen.
